SKIP/INTRO is satellite’s commissioning scheme. Open to early-career artists from under-represented backgrounds, the programme supports the creation of new socially-engaged moving image work.
The programme has two aims:
To bring high-quality new work from under-represented perspectives to audiences
To play a small role in helping to change the face of our industry
2020
The programme’s first iteration was held in summer 2020, at the height of the global lockdown. Three artists were each awarded a fee of £1500, up to £2000 production budget, and curatorial support from satellite. The finished works will be exhibited at Gasworks in 2021.
