What does the word 'talent' mean? How can we spot talent? Where does it come from, and how, if at all, might we nurture and support it? Created from long-form interviews held over a series of months with eight people whose individual expertise crosses more than one area of the music industry, Channelling Talent explores changes in contemporary popular music. The film uses this as a springboard to discuss the music industry itself, in light of recent changes brought about by the internet, self-publishing and the collapse of traditional structures.
