It’s a DIY record label, publisher, merch stall; an experiment in social engagement.
Our work is publicly funded and free to access, which is how we like it - but there are other ways to share what you do. We wanted to experiment with distribution methods more often associated with zine makers or musicians - low-cost objects that sit in people’s homes: on shelves, fridges or kitchen tables.
We also wanted to use the project to experiment with funding. What if sales from editions went to a good cause? That could be a social cause, funding an artist’s next piece of work, or making resources free to access. The imprint’s first release, INTERMISSION MUSIC, is the soundtrack to our film An Intermission. It’s a limited edition run of 10” vinyl records and a digital download, with all profits going to a fund supporting the project’s young homeless participants as they take their next steps in life.
