Felix is a South London based artist working with audio and visual media to create soundscapes and collages, for radio, installation, and film. Taylor has created performances, workshops, audio works and soundtracks for the Black Cultural Archive, London, NTS radio, The Arnolfini, Bristol, The Jewish Museum, London, 1020 radio, and We The Curious, Bristol.
For his residency, Felix adapted “a rough research piece I created as part of an online residency at the Black Cultural Archives in 2020, in which various print materials I found in the archives and edited were overlaid onto videos in a triptych”, filming new material “to visually explore my fascination with water as a personal site of peace and self reflection, as well as other love and care rituals I have; hair care and cooking, meditation, plant care and music.” He documented these “in a kind of self shot film diary,” using the footage “as the basis of the piece, edited together freely in three portrait panels side by side.”
Felix plans to use the work made during the residency as a proof-of-concept for a larger project, which he’ll make in 2021-22.
