This is a 6-month placement (25 hours per week) and is only open to applicants coming through the Kickstart Scheme via DWP & Job Centres. To apply for this job, you must be claiming Universal Credit and be between 16 to 24 years old.
Salary: National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage depending on the age of participant (23-24 years: £8.91 per hour, 18-22 years: £8.36 per hour)

Background:
As part of satellite, you will contribute to the day-to-day running of the studio and perform a wide range of tasks whilst learning about the operations of a moving image studio. The role of the Studio Assistant will involve working with the existing team to support their work. This role will be line managed by our Director who will also oversee employability training and skills development. This is an in-person role working in our studio in East London.
Role:
We are looking for someone who is proactive and capable to assist with the maintenance of our moving image equipment and to help us to develop a new equipment hire scheme. The successful candidate will play an important role in the formation of this project, and once established, they will be responsible for its management and administration. They will also be involved in administering our remote residency programme. Further tasks and responsibilities will include assisting with communications and diary management for the studio.

The successful candidate will have
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to manage their own time and workload.
Strong personal motivation and the ability to take the initiative on self-directed tasks.
An interest in the arts, in particular moving image.
Experience working in creative industries would be a bonus.
Good interpersonal skills and a friendly positive approach.
A good level of computer literacy as well as an adaptability to using new programmes and online tools. (Training in the use of specialist software will be offered on the job.)
Training:
We will offer training in the following areas
The use of Adobe CC software (including Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Using Resolve (film industry picture grading software).
Moving image equipment handling, assembly/disassembly, operation.
Using office and project management software in a creative environment.
Using online tools such as hosting services, shared drives, collaborative tools in a creative environment.
Improving your CV and tailoring it to creative work.
Building an online portfolio.
Using your social media professionally.
Writing a good cover letter.
Dos and Don'ts of job applications and interviewing, tailored to the creative fields.
Introductions to good job sites, email lists and resources for creative work.
